I answered phones at an NPO that provided psychological counseling service during my student days. Since the NPO provided psychological counseling, most of the counseling related to anguishes of hearts, but about 30% of those involved legal issues such as divorce, domestic violence, debt, termination of employment, inheritance trouble etc. Some of the troubles were serious enough to warrant immediate counseling with lawyers.
When I suggested that caller should consult with a lawyer, I received responses like "I'm not sure if I can consult a lawyer on this problem and I have no idea as to how much that will cost me," or "I did consult with a lawyer, but he did not seem to care much as he listened to my story." If I were to become a lawyer, I can make legal counseling more readily available to more people and much easier to understand. This is what triggered me to take the National Bar Examination and become a lawyer.
We at Navias aim to be a "counseling-first Law office". Our Law office is based on the key concepts of "Listen first. Start from there," "The choice is yours to make," and "Easy to understand explanation and clearly stipulated fees." We aim to structure legal service that is easy to understand and conveniently available to all.
Any person may find himself/herself in trouble. We wish to offer a place for counseling so that people may feel that "the heavy load is off my shoulders," "anxiety and worry have gone," and "I can see hope at the end." We are committed to do our utmost so as to make as many people feel this way.
